SERAMESH® PA
SERAMESH® mesh implants were originally developed for hernia surgery. In the meantime, a partially absorbable variant has now been added to the polypropylene mesh that has been in use for many years. This new mesh means more applications for the implants and allows surgical procedures to be improved and optimized.
The partially absorbable SERAMESH® PA combines optimal handling for the surgeon with excellent tolerability for the patient, as the monofilament polyglycol acid-caprolactone portion is absorbed leaving an extremely soft polypropylene implant behind. In each individual case, it can be cut to exactly the size required without losing tensile strength or stability. Before it is partially absorbed, SERAMESH® PA is extremely easy to handle when the implant is being positioned, especially with minimally invasive surgical procedures.
The Advantages
For the surgeon
- Can be cut to size and keeps its shape
- Mix of proven materials with macroporous active structure for optimum ingrowth
- Hydrophilic surface for secure adhesion
- High initial rigidity for optimum handling
- Suitable for all operating techniques
For the patient
- Reduced risk of infection due to monofiliment character
- Minimised proportion of foreign bodies
- Anatomically adapted elasticity
- Maximum comfort due to optimised softness
