SERAFIT®
Non-stiffened SERAFIT®
Non-stiffened SERAFIT® (violet) is a braided absorbable suture made of polyglycolic acid with a special coating. Together with the distinctive braided structure this gives the thread optimal properties, in particular:
- easy passage through the tissues
- minimal sawing effect
- excellent flexibility
- good knot security
Non-stiffened SERAFIT® is used in minimally invasive surgery for extracorporeal knotting.
Stiffened SERAFIT®
Stiffened SERAFIT® (violet) is the same basic material but it holds its shape thanks to a special treatment of the thread. Stiffened material is used for loops and for intracorporeal knotting.
Its half-life is about 18 days. The thread is completely absorbed within 60-90 days.
