Non-stiffened SERAFIT^®

Non-stiffened SERAFIT^® (violet) is a braided absorbable suture made of polyglycolic acid with a special coating. Together with the distinctive braided structure this gives the thread optimal properties, in particular:

• easy passage through the tissues
• minimal sawing effect
• excellent flexibility
• good knot security

Non-stiffened SERAFIT^® is used in minimally invasive surgery for extracorporeal knotting.

Stiffened SERAFIT^®

Stiffened SERAFIT^® (violet) is the same basic material but it holds its shape thanks to a special treatment of the thread. Stiffened material is used for loops and for intracorporeal knotting.

Its half-life is about 18 days. The thread is completely absorbed within 60-90 days.
